| The Galle Fort | |

The Galle Fort, a landmark in Sri Lanka's Southern Coast is a must-see attraction owing to its distinguishing local character. It is considered a living museum showcasing the Dutch colonial rule and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can witness the unique Dutch architecture well preserved for generations, and can also pay a visit to the former Dutch warehouse building which now houses the National Maritime Museum. |

| Koggala Folk Museum | |

Koggala is the birthplace of the late iconic Sri Lankan novelist Martin Wickramasinghe and guests may visit the famous Koggala Folk Museum built in his honour. . The museum depicts the story of Martin Wickramsinghe's life through a series of photographs, souvenirs, awards and different objects of folk culture acquired during his lifetime. One of the islands in the Koggala lagoon, the Madol Duwa, is historic and has been mentioned in many classics of Martin Wickramasinghe. |

| Handunugoda Tea Factory | |

Another attraction in the vicinity is the Handunugoda tea factory, a world famous destination for both travellers & connoisseurs of tea. This plantation has received acclaim as the only producers of White Tea – tea untouched by human hands. Handunugoda teas are unique and are not produced anywhere else in the world. |

| Rumassala Hill | |

Other places of interest include Rumassala - a huge mount-like hill which was supposed to have been carried from India and dropped by a Hindu Monkey God named Hanuman. On top of the hill is a brilliant white Peace Pagoda - the temple of Hanuman. A walk around the pagoda provides magnificent views across Galle bay, where the Galle town and Dutch Fort are visible on the far side. It also has one of the most private but beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. |

| Yatagala Temple | |

Also close by is the Yatagala temple, which is built around a large rock. The Bo tree at the temple is 2300 years old and archaeologists believe that the great granite boulders that stand guard around the Bo tree are in fact a kind of rocky garden. Nestled amidst untouched environs and rarely visited by many, the temple looks out over paddy fields and small hamlets. |

| National Sanctuaries and Sinharaja Forest Reserve | |

| Whale watching in Mirissa | |

Whale watching can be done at Mirissa, which is in close proximity to the resort. The season for sighting these mammals are during the months of November to April, with December, January and April being the peak months. The probability of spotting sperm whales and blue whales during these months is very high. |
